The National Association of Flood and Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) invites flood control, stormwater, and water resource professionals to join us for our 2026 Annual Meeting in Annapolis, Maryland.

This year’s theme, “Grounded in Mission: Leading Through Complexity,” reflects the challenges facing public agencies navigating a shifting federal landscape, aging infrastructure, and growing flood and stormwater risks.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The meeting brings together 150+ professionals from local, regional, and state agencies alongside senior federal leaders for four days of policy discussion, peer exchange, and collaboration. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Alex Sheen, Founder, because I said I would — Opening keynote on the power of commitment in public service
  • Drew Bartlett, Executive Director, South Florida Water Management District, Keynote on the landmark Florida-Army agreement to accelerate Everglades restoration and what it signals for federal-state-local partnerships
  • Dr. David Novak, National Weather Service, NOAA — Update on flood forecasting, rainfall frequency data, and NOAA Atlas 15
  • John Shockley, Attorney at Law, Ohnstad Twichell, PC, shares how the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project developed innovative approaches to funding billions in cost-share obligations and acquiring thousands of acres of real estate across two states.
